Senior Software Engineer II - New Product

As a Senior Software Engineer II on Automation, you will architect and design critical and forward-facing parts of the Automation Platform, help set Samsara's strategy around Event Architecture and re-usable RPCs, and ensure the product can scale to production demands while maintaining flexibility for new requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build full-stack features across frontend, backend, and mobile platforms
• Architect large-scale, high-performance systems for production environments
• Mentor fellow engineers and foster team culture
• Maintain production systems and provide operational support
• Collaborate with product, design, firmware, and infrastructure teams

Minimum Requirements:

• 8+ years building and operating production software systems
• Proficiency in backend languages (Go, Java, C#, or equivalent)
• Large-scale system architecture experience
• Cloud experience (AWS preferred)
• Strong project estimation and delivery capabilities

Ideal Qualifications:

• Experience leveraging LLMs or similar for day-to-day coding, eg: Cursor, Claude Code
• Familiarity with workflow engines, state machines, or orchestration platforms (Temporal, Step Functions, Airflow)

Tech Stack: GoLang, GraphQL, TypeScript, React, ReactNative

Compensation: Total Direct Compensation at or above market through base salary + bonus/variable + RSU awards. Estimated range $150,237-$252,500 annually.
