AI Engineer

Cachet is building the insurance infrastructure to let Europe's platform economy thrive. We design and operate smart, data-driven insurance solutions for shared mobility and digital platforms, enabling fairer pricing, flexible coverage, and real-time risk insights.

As our first dedicated AI Engineer, you aren't just joining a team; you are owning a core product pillar as an engineer. You will transform AI from experimental prototypes into scalable, production-ready solutions that redefine how risk is managed for millions of users across the EU.

The Mission
You will build client-facing products and agentic workflows that create a massive competitive edge for Cachet. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will have high strategic autonomy to propose and drive AI initiatives from day one. To thrive in this role, you must be ready to design and implement AI architecture that is robust and scalable.

Your Tech Stack & Toolkit

• Languages: Expert-level Python and solid Postgres knowledge.
• AI/ML: Production-grade RAG, Vector Databases, and LLM frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, etc.).
• Infrastructure: AWS (EKS, ECS, Bedrock), Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Scope: 50% implementation of AI pipelines, 30% building internal AI infrastructure, and 20% cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Customers.

What Success Looks Like

• 3 Months: AI roadmap defined and aligned; internal infrastructure live (Standardized LLM layer, Vector DB, RAG framework).
• 6 Months: Production AI features live for clients; agentic workflows replacing manual operational tasks.
• 12 Months: AI is established as a core revenue-driving pillar of the Cachet product. You have moved from individual deployments to a mature, scalable internal platform that other teams can use.

What We Expect from You

• Proven experience deploying RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) in production and working with Vector Databases.
• Expert-level Python proficiency and solid Postgres knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (EKS/ECS) and containerization via Docker & Kubernetes.
• Experience in a startup/scale-up environment where you owned architectural decisions and worked cross-functionally with product teams.

The Nice-to-Haves

• Domain Expertise: Background in Fintech or Insurance.
• Advanced AI: Experience with agent frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI) or AWS Bedrock.
• Platform Building: Experience building internal AI platforms for enterprise B2B clients.

• The Role: This is a Senior individual contributor role with a clear trajectory toward becoming Head of AI as you build out your team.
