Agent Workflow
Developing intelligent LLM-driven agents for clinical trial applications using RAG and KAG, with agent orchestration via LangChain, CrewAI, and AutoGen. Integrating proprietary data sources into agentic workflows.
About the Role
CluePoints is a SaaS company developing software that revolutionizes how clinical trials are managed and new drugs are brought to market. Established in 2012, they are seeking a highly skilled AI Agent Engineer to lead the development of intelligent LLM-driven agents tailored for clinical trial applications.
You will play a central role in designing and developing an agentic system powered by state-of-the-art LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, LLaMA, etc.), integrated with both CluePoints and client-specific tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and build intelligent agents using modern LLMs and data augmentation techniques such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Knowledge-Augmented Generation (KAG), or others as appropriate
- Integrate proprietary and client-specific data sources (e.g., protocols, IQRMPs, operational data) into LLM workflows
- Develop APIs and backend tools that encapsulate CluePoints' analytical capabilities (e.g., statistical tests, risk indicators)
- Collaborate with product, R&D, and clinical SMEs to translate use cases into scalable agent workflows
- Prototype and deploy interactive agent interfaces (chat-based or API-driven)
- Ensure agent outputs are safe, auditable, and aligned with clinical and regulatory standards
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in LLMs, agent frameworks, and healthcare AI applications
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience building applications using LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, Meta)
- Strong knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation and agent orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, CrewAI, OpenAI function calling, AutoGen)
- Expertise in Python and experience with API development (FastAPI, Flask, etc.)
- Strong backend engineering skills with ability to design and maintain modular services
- Experience working with vector databases and embedding models
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with clinical trial data and tools (EDC, CTMS, protocols, SOPs, AE/SAE reporting) is a plus, but not required
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., life sciences, healthcare)
- Exposure to statistical or data quality assessment tools in clinical trials
- Familiarity with BI tools, document generation (PDF/Word), and data visualization
- Background in machine learning, NLP, or AI product development
Benefits
- Work 100% from home or choose to come to the office
- Fun atmosphere with activities throughout the year
- Squad organization offering ownership on projects
- High quality equipment (64GB RAM laptops, i9, 2K screens)
- Access to online training, certifications sponsored by the company, personal growth plans
- Multi-disciplinary international team (~20 nationalities)
- Competitive salary and benefits, bonus potential, employee referral program
