AI Engineer I (Remote)

Sezzle is a fintech company focused on financially empowering the next generation through interest-free installment payment plans. The Applied AI team seeks an AI Engineer I to develop platforms powering AI-driven capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI-powered platforms alongside senior engineers
• Own end-to-end project delivery from discovery through production
• Build features, intelligent automation, and agentic systems that enhance customer experiences
• Integrate AI into full-stack components (backend, APIs, data layers, frontend)
• Translate business problems into maintainable AI-enabled solutions
• Participate in production support and code reviews

Required Qualifications (1-3 years experience)

• Professional software/AI engineering background
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and shipping AI-powered systems to production
• Python, SQL, React proficiency
• Production-grade full-stack systems design
• Distributed systems and complex data workflows experience

Preferred Qualifications

• AI platform/product development experience
• ML fundamentals (supervised/unsupervised learning, feature engineering)
• Transformer architectures (BERT, GPT), attention mechanisms, tokenization
• Embeddings and vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector)
• NLP techniques (text classification, NER, semantic search)
• Agentic frameworks and workflow engines (LangChain, n8n, Make)
• AI-assisted or agentic systems development
• AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines
• Golang experience

Salary: $2,500-$3,333 USD/month (gross)
