About the Role

About Us

FurtherAI develops next-generation AI agents for the insurance sector, a market valued at approximately one trillion dollars. The company has secured over $30M in funding from prominent investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Y Combinator, Nexus, South Park Commons, and Converge. Revenue has expanded tenfold within the past year. The customer base encompasses major insurance firms, including a top-five global carrier recently signed. The founding team brings extensive AI expertise and proven company-building credentials.

Why Join Us

  • Rocketship Growth: Operating post-product-market fit with accelerating revenue trajectory
  • Elite Team: Leadership includes former Apple AI Research staff, four YC founders, and six ex-founders; engineering talent from Apple, Microsoft, Google, and Amazon
  • Massive Market Impact: Insurance represents global commerce infrastructure; our work transforms industry operations
  • Founder's Mindset: Ideal for those seeking substantial product ownership and potential future entrepreneurial ventures

What You'll Do

  • Establish end-to-end evaluations for measuring and improving agent performance
  • Experiment with emerging agentic methodologies (multi-agent systems, reasoning-from-feedback, reinforcement fine-tuning)
  • Build lightweight infrastructure, servers, and orchestration frameworks (e.g., MCP servers) enabling production-ready agent operations
  • Monitor emerging research and literature on LLM and AI agents, translating insights into production experiments

What We're Looking For

  • Exceptional capability in communicating with LLMs using minimalist prompting approaches
  • Proficient Python development experience
  • 6+ years developing machine learning and AI systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Bonus qualifications: B2B SaaS background and early-stage (0-1) experience
  • Priority characteristics: demonstrated drive, resilience, and ownership mentality

This role focuses on building orchestration and reasoning systems leveraging existing LLMs rather than model training work.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Competitive base salary with meaningful equity grants and 401(k) matching
  • Unlimited paid time off
  • In-office culture in San Francisco with complimentary meals
  • Team building events
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
