Software Engineer - AI Productivity

Hightouch seeks a hands-on technical leader to accelerate AI coding tool adoption within their engineering organization. The role focuses on building infrastructure, tooling, and documentation that maximize agent effectiveness across their codebase.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish cloud-based development environments where AI agents operate autonomously
• Create MCP server integrations connecting agents to internal systems (CircleCI, Slack, Datadog, GitHub)
• Maintain comprehensive agent guidance documentation and ensure proper code structure exposure
• Partner with engineers to identify agent bottlenecks and implement solutions
• Stay current with AI productivity trends and drive adoption across the company

Required Qualifications:

• Strong backend coding fundamentals
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents: Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Devin, or similar
• Demonstrated success writing agent documentation that improved output quality
• Track record developing developer tools other engineers actually use
• Full-stack comfort: CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, tooling, application code

Nice-to-Have: MCP server development, developer productivity background, TypeScript/JavaScript monorepos, Go, GraphQL, large-scale sandboxed environments

Salary: $180,000 - $320,000 USD/year, equity 0.01% - 0.1%

Interview: Recruiter screen, system design, AI skills interview, hiring manager conversation (~4.5 hours total).
