Senior Software Engineer, AI

About the Role

You will join a cross-functional team developing AI agents that transform how operations work at scale. The platform reads operational knowledge, reasons contextually, and executes end-to-end tasks. The foundational team currently has fewer than five engineers working on LLM-powered agent design, backend architecture, tool development, and knowledge infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own core agent platform components from orchestration to tool integrations.
• Build the capabilities layer including APIs, data access patterns, and service integrations.
• Architect knowledge and memory infrastructure for agents to retrieve data across systems.
• Design a trust and safety framework with audit trails, human controls, and AI guardrails.
• Contribute to agent evaluation and testing infrastructure.
• Partner with Operations to understand workflows and translate process knowledge into capabilities.
• Mentor the growing engineering team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend engineering building and operating production systems.
• Hands-on LLM and AI agent experience (orchestration, RAG, tool calling, or similar).
• Strong API design and system integration skills.
• Product mindset questioning requirements and contributing to decisions.
• Proven ownership of complex projects in ambiguous, early-stage environments.
