Senior AI Engineer (Forward Deployed)

The role focuses on hands-on implementation of AI- and data-driven solutions at domain depth. You will translate business processes into robust, scalable systems spanning agentic AI workflows and data engineering on Databricks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand and structure business processes, decision logic, and data relationships; challenge assumptions, translate logic into implementable solutions
• Design agentic AI systems (agents, orchestration, tools, context, decision logic)
• Build data-engineering components including data layers, models, and pipelines
• Combine agentic and data-driven approaches into end-to-end solution flows
• Actively implement core logic, ensure maintainability, observability, and production readiness
• Lead technical workshops and collaborate with customers at working level

Required Skills:

• Very senior, hands-on engineer in AI and/or data engineering with a strong AI-first mindset
• Strong judgment on when not to use an LLM
• Structured LLM orchestration (tool calling, schema validation)
• Multi-agent system design (orchestrator + specialized agents)
• Strong Python skills (ideally FastAPI, async IO, Pydantic)
• Production API development (errors, retries, logging)
• Git and CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab)
• Enterprise Azure operations (Managed Identity, Key Vault, monitoring)
• Strong experience with Azure and Databricks (Lakehouse)
• Solid fundamentals in Spark and Delta Lake
• English required; German business-level proficiency for Germany-based candidates
