Principal Agentic AI Engineer / Architect at AI CoE (f/m/d)

SAP is hiring a Principal Agentic AI Engineer / Architect for our AI Center of Excellence in Garching bei München (greater Munich area). You'll drive enterprise-grade AgenticAI development and lead engineering teams on AI services from PoC through production.

What you'll do:

• Lead development of AI services from proof-of-concept through production deployment
• Establish a 'best practice framework for AI development' across multiple teams
• Design infrastructure architecture for AI applications
• Build Big Data pipelines and handle data ETL productization
• Develop ML models addressing real business challenges
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and MLOps for model deployment
• Mentor junior team members in AI engineering

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in ML, computer science, or related field
• Proficiency in Python or Java
• Expertise with distributed computing platforms like Databricks/PySpark
• Deep understanding of agentic AI communication technologies (MCP, A2A)
• Hands-on experience with frameworks including LangChain, OpenAI, Hugging Face, Crew
• Strong background with AgenticAI frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, Microsoft agent framework, Google ADK
• MLOps/AIOps knowledge including MLflow
• Cloud deployment experience (Azure/AWS/GCP)
• Fluent English; good German preferred
