Software Engineer, Agent

Sierra creates a platform helping businesses build customer experiences enhanced by AI. The role focuses on designing and deploying production-grade AI agents across finance, healthcare, and commerce sectors.

What You'll Do

• Production AI Agent Development: Build and ship highly performant, reliable, and intuitive AI agents driving direct revenue impact through scalable systems in production environments.
• Agent Development Lifecycle (ADLC) Leadership: Own end-to-end agent evolution from pilot through deployment and continuous iteration.
• Enterprise Partnership: Collaborate with major enterprises and startups to address business challenges through AI agent solutions.
• Platform Evolution: Surface customer needs to guide Sierra's core platform development through prototyping and feature collaboration.

Example Projects

• Designing agents for telecom/media companies that outperform human agents in subscription churn management
• Building agents for complex customer interactions including device troubleshooting and personalized recommendations
• Creating industry-specific AI agent frameworks
• Integrating latest voice models at enterprise scale

Required Qualifications

• Experience building and scaling end-to-end production systems
• Strong technical problem-solving in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
• Builder and tinkerer's mindset with high agency
• Direct customer engagement experience
• Clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Production AI/LLM system experience
• Founding or founding engineer background
• Familiarity with eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering
• React, TypeScript, and/or Go experience
• Customer-facing or external stakeholder project leadership
