Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology seeks a backend software engineer to build foundational AI platform capabilities for Disney's Ad Platforms division.

Job Summary

As a Software Engineer on the AI Core Engineering team, you will help design, build, and maintain foundational AI components used across Disney's Ad Platforms. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to implement backend services that power intelligent automation and content workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement backend services supporting AI agent frameworks and orchestration layers
  • Develop APIs integrating with LLM providers
  • Contribute to reusable AI agent capabilities and orchestration workflows
  • Work with structured agent orchestration frameworks like LangGraph, LangChain, or similar systems
  • Integrate LLM APIs and support evaluation workflows
  • Ensure production-ready reliability and scalability
  • Build and maintain shared backend services and integration layers
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional backend engineering experience
  • Strong Python proficiency
  • Experience with LLM APIs and agent orchestration frameworks
  • Experience with distributed systems integration
  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
  • Experience building AI-powered systems in production environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools
  • Experience contributing to platform or infrastructure teams

Salary Range

  • Los Angeles, CA: $117,500 - $157,500
  • Seattle, WA: $123,000 - $165,000
