AI Engineer

Martell Ventures is building an AI-powered CFO designed to solve operational finance for founders. The platform replaces spreadsheets with real-time financial visibility through intelligent bookkeeping and proactive financial controls across a 3-phase roadmap. You'll be Engineer #5 on the founding team.

What You'll Do:

• Design and implement scalable backend services for financial data processing
• Integrate third-party APIs including Stripe, Shopify, QuickBooks, Xero, Square, and Plaid
• Build AI workflows for automated bookkeeping and collections
• Deploy AI agents for transaction categorization and natural language queries on financial data
• Develop cash flow forecasting and margin analysis algorithms
• Build automated accounts receivable/payable workflows
• Full-stack ownership with focus on rapid feature shipping

Requirements:

• 5+ years full-stack or backend-heavy engineering experience
• End-to-end SaaS/AI/fintech platform experience
• AI-First mindset following the 10/80/10 principle
• Problem-solving orientation prioritizing progress over perfection
• Proactive communication and attention to financial data accuracy

Compensation: $80,000-$100,000 USD OTE. Fully remote, worldwide.
