Senior AI Engineer

Pair Team is hiring a Senior AI Engineer to design and build agentic systems that coordinate care, engage patients, and execute care workflows. Pair Team operates as an AI-enabled medical group serving safety-net populations, building agentic infrastructure for the safety net to coordinate care, automate operations, and learn from every patient interaction.

You will define architectural patterns for agent reasoning, tool use, memory, and human-in-the-loop collaboration. You own complex problems end-to-end, from system design through production observability and evaluation. You partner with product managers and domain experts to translate real-world care processes into reliable agent behavior. You establish standards for agent evaluation, safety, and operational reliability across the platform.

Requirements:

• 4+ years building and shipping production software systems
• Proven experience with multi-agent or agent-driven systems in production (beyond simple LLM workflows)
• Hands-on work with agent frameworks such as LangGraph, Mastra, or the Claude Agents SDK
• Observability and evaluation tools: Langfuse, LangSmith, Braintrust
• Strong backend architecture and scalable systems design experience
• Clear evaluation mindset including automated evals, simulation-based testing, and regression frameworks
• Experience with leading AI SDKs (OpenAI, Anthropic)

Nice-to-have:

• Conversational/voice-driven systems experience
• Healthcare or regulated domain background

Compensation: $170,000 - $200,000 base, plus equity and benefits. Fully remote within the United States.
