About the Role
Renesas is building applied AI for hardware design and requirement management use-cases. We are looking for a Senior Applied AI Engineer to develop agentic flows that apply to semiconductor design and requirement management workflows.
Responsibilities
- Develop agentic flows using off-the-shelf LLMs and applying modern harnessing methods (tool-calling, planning, skills, sub-agents, MCP servers, CLIs, etc.) to hardware design/requirement management use-cases
- Benchmark models, prompts and approaches for speed, cost and accuracy
- Improve results methodically using techniques with highest impact (meta prompting, fine tuning, RAG, caching, prompt compression, distillation, etc.)
- Build evaluation and benchmarking pipelines
- Participate in the full AI product lifecycle: from early-stage experimentation to deployment and continuous improvement
- Ship features to customers and build production-ready AI systems
Requirements
- Advanced Python skills
- LLM engineering and production deployment experience
- Experience with tool-calling and agent orchestration
- Experience with MCP servers
- Evaluation and benchmarking pipeline development
- Cost/latency optimization techniques
Nice to Have
- LangGraph or other stateful agent frameworks
Location: Lisbon, Portugal. Hybrid: in-office Tuesday-Thursday.
