Applied AI Engineer

Axiomatic AI seeks an engineer to bridge R&D and product, converting research prototypes into production-ready AI systems. The role focuses on integrating LLM and agent-based technologies into real workflows with emphasis on reliability and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Own AI features through full delivery cycle (design, implementation, rollout, iteration)
• Build LLM workflows including tool-calling agents and structured output pipelines
• Contribute to prompt strategy and model evaluation
• Write clean, typed Python with comprehensive testing
• Implement logging, tracing, and metrics for AI features
• Collaborate on deployment workflows and code reviews

Core Requirements

• 3+ years software engineering experience (Python preferred)
• Familiarity with agent frameworks (LangChain, PydanticAI, or similar)
• Prompt engineering and LLM evaluation techniques
• Production experience with LLMs beyond prototypes
• API/service development (FastAPI, REST, async Python)
• Strong fundamentals in design patterns, testing, and code review
• Basic observability skills and Git proficiency

• CI/CD expertise (Docker, GitHub Actions)
• RAG architecture knowledge
• Real-time inference and streaming experience
• ML/data engineering background
• Knowledge Graph concepts
• Open-source contributions
