AI Engineer - Public Sector

Unstructured Technologies seeks an AI engineer to architect and deploy advanced systems for government and military clients. The role bridges R&D and production engineering, focusing on transforming unstructured data for LLM consumption.

Time allocation

• 50% Building and shipping production RAG pipelines and agentic workflows using Python
• 30% Research and experimentation with new models and frameworks
• 20% Strategy, technical documentation, and collaboration

Must-haves

• Production RAG pipeline deployment experience with real-world datasets
• Deep agentic systems design expertise (tool-use, multi-agent orchestration)
• Expert-level Python engineering with clean, scalable code
• AWS/GovCloud environment operations experience

Nice-to-haves

• NLP or object detection fine-tuning
• LLM evaluation framework familiarity
• Government security standards knowledge
• Active Secret/TS security clearance or eligibility
