About the Role
General Motors is hiring an AI Agent Engineer to design, build, and operationalize AI-powered agents that enhance employee productivity in enterprise settings. You'll engineer AI agents with tool orchestration and guardrails, integrate LLMs with enterprise systems, and manage the agent lifecycle through monitoring and evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Design and build AI agents that automate enterprise workflows with tool orchestration, routing logic, and guardrails
- Integrate LLMs with enterprise systems through RESTful APIs and microservices
- Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems for grounded responses
- Manage the agent lifecycle including monitoring, evaluation, and observability
- Establish continuous performance improvement frameworks
- Collaborate across teams on responsible AI practices
Requirements
- 3-7+ years of professional software or AI/ML engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Java
- Experience with LLM-based applications and orchestration frameworks (LangChain, Semantic Kernel)
- Familiarity with vector search, embeddings, and RAG patterns
- Experience with observability and logging for AI systems
Preferred
- Glean platform experience
- Microsoft 365 ecosystem familiarity
Location
Austin, Texas or Warren, Michigan. Hybrid (minimum 3 days per week on-site). No immigration sponsorship for this role.
