Senior Software Developer (IntelliJ AI)
About the Role
The IntelliJ AI team develops the AI-specific core of JetBrains IDEs. We work on agentic workflows, intelligent editing assistance, and new AI-powered capabilities.
In this role, you will:
- Integrate state-of-the-art AI agents into our IDEs, continuously improving the developer experience
- Enhance agent capabilities with IDE tools — code search, refactoring, debugging APIs, and more
- Create novel AI features at the agent layer
- Measure agent performance through evaluation pipelines and iterate on quality
We are looking for engineers who:
- Have strong Java/Kotlin knowledge and a track record of building complex systems
- Are self-directed and comfortable owning ambiguous problems end-to-end
- Communicate clearly in English
Valued experience:
- Building LLM-based AI features in production
- IDE/editor development
- Performance-critical, concurrent systems
Location: Flexible across European offices including Belgrade, Berlin, Limassol, Madrid, Munich, Paphos, Prague, Warsaw, and Yerevan, with remote options in Germany and the US. Up to 30 days annually working from abroad.
