About the role
Anthropic's Product Engineering org is hiring experienced full-stack engineers to join one of several teams owning current or emergent products. You'll be a technical leader thinking holistically about consumer and enterprise end-user experience across Claude.ai, the Anthropic API, enterprise deployments, Claude Code, or mission-driven applications, and carry real end-to-end ownership.

You'll partner with engineering managers, product leaders, designers, and researchers to understand new model capabilities and build for what they enable. You'll own technical quality across the stack (performance, accessibility, reliability, developer experience) and scale your work to millions of users globally.

Team placement happens after the interview, based on your interests and organizational needs. Hiring teams include:

Developer Experience: Build the console, SDKs, docs, and observability that give developers confidence to rely on Claude in critical applications. Accelerate the path to agentic development by designing for both human and AI developers.

Beneficial Deployments: Bring Claude to nonprofits, schools, healthcare providers, researchers, and economic mobility programs.

Enterprise AI Products: Make Claude a daily-use tool for enterprise. Focus areas:

• Extensibility: plugins, skills, connectors, and the MCP ecosystem
• Context: enterprise knowledge, organizational memory, retrieval layers
• Proactivity: Cowork suggestions, workflow capture, ambient Claude inside daily tools

Vertical AI Products: Purpose-built experiences for Financial Services, Healthcare, and Legal.

Enterprise Foundations: Identity, permissions, security, compliance, and admin analytics for large org adoption.

Growth: User acquisition, engagement, retention, and monetization.

You might be a good fit if you:

• Have 8-10+ years of full-stack experience, ideally with 2+ years at Staff or equivalent
• Have led design and delivery of complex consumer or B2B user-facing products across the full stack
• Are technically deep in modern frontend and backend (React, TypeScript)
• Take a product-focused approach
• Have built products from 0 to 1 in fast-moving environments
• Care about mentoring peers
• Drive cross-team alignment

Strong candidates may also have:

• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, or building AI-native product features
• Experience building developer-facing products or tooling
• Growth, activation, or experimentation experience (A/B testing, funnel analysis)
• Domain depth in regulated contexts (enterprise, healthcare, legal, financial services)

Location: Hybrid, 25% in-office minimum. Preference for candidates in NY, NJ, Seattle, SF, or Bay Area.

Annual Salary: $405,000 - $485,000 USD.
