Senior Backend Engineer, MCP, RAG and Fine-Tuning (100% Remote)

Hopper seeks a senior engineer proficient in AI-assisted development. The role focuses on using multiple agents to autonomously deliver features on the Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS) platform, a configurable travel commerce engine powering major brands.

Key Responsibilities:

• Optimize codebases for agent performance and safety
• Orchestrate AI agents to build end-to-end features with minimal oversight
• Design guardrails and feedback loops maximizing agent productivity
• Architect scalable solutions for multi-tenant portal launches
• Train, deploy, and optimize LLMs for complex features
• Collaborate asynchronously using AI-generated documentation

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven ability directing AI agents and automated workflows
• Expertise designing technical guardrails for AI systems
• Strong product thinking anchored in customer experience
• Distributed systems development in Scala (or willingness to master it)
• Experience with LLM training, deployment, and optimization
