AI Engineer - Agent

Zoom is seeking an engineer to develop systems with reasoning, planning, and workflow execution capabilities. The role emphasizes designing agentic systems that manage complex tasks, perform multi-step actions, and ensure safe interactions with tools and data. The position integrates LLM technology with systems engineering to enhance Zoom AI Companion's reliability and sophistication.

Candidates will join a collaborative engineering organization developing next-generation AI experiences. The team spans machine learning, distributed systems, and product engineering, focusing on scalable, reliable intelligent solutions that enhance communication and productivity.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related discipline
• 4+ years AI/ML engineering experience
• 5+ years backend or distributed systems engineering experience
• Production-grade AI or agent-based system development
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Go, Java, C++, or Rust
• AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platform experience
• Kubernetes, containerization, and CI/CD pipeline expertise
• Software architecture, observability, and performance optimization knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

• AI agent and agentic workflow development or evaluation experience
• Modern agent framework familiarity
• AI development tools experience (Claude Code, Codex)
• Prompt engineering, safety systems, and agent evaluation expertise

Salary: $151,800 - $332,200 base (total compensation includes bonus and equity).
