This senior-level role involves end-to-end ownership of research and development for AI avatar chat systems, driving the technical roadmap for intelligence and interactivity across millions of avatars.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and implement solutions using foundation models, prompt engineering, RAG, knowledge graphs, and multi-agent architectures for multi-modal AI chat products
- Architect scalable AI features and agentic systems within backend infrastructure
- Design quantitative benchmarks to evaluate and improve agentic systems
- Partner with product teams to refine AI systems based on user feedback
- Transition research outputs into production-ready systems
- Establish best practices for agent quality assurance, safety, and cost control
- Fine-tune and train LLM/ML models when necessary
- Stay current with academic and industry AI research
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or related field
- 2+ years developing agentic systems with LLMs
- 3+ years building scalable production backend systems in Python, Go, or JavaScript
- 5+ years machine learning and statistics experience with proven product development
- Strong communication and product collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or Ph.D.
- Strong product intuition
- 3+ years developing complex multi-agent systems
- Comfort in lean, fast-moving environments
- Publications at top-tier AI/ML conferences (ACL, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, EMNLP, NAACL)
Salary: $200,000 - $275,000 base salary
