AI Technical Lead

IANS Research is hiring an AI Technical Lead (hybrid, Boston, MA). You'll architect agentic AI systems, design reusable agent frameworks, and guide the engineering strategy that powers IANS' next generation of data-driven products.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of AI agent systems aligned with IANS' evolving DaaS strategy, enabling clients to consume IANS data feeds and build their own AI agents
• Design reusable agent frameworks and SDK-style abstractions for external clients
• Integrate RAG pipelines, tool use, and multi-agent patterns into production
• Develop production Python code using PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain
• Build APIs and microservices for internal and external integration
• Architect cloud-based AI infrastructure (Azure preferred)
• Serve as SME on agentic systems and LLM architectures; mentor engineering teams
• Establish security, governance, and observability standards across the AI platform

Requirements:

• 5+ years AI/ML engineering experience, 2+ years in a senior or lead role
• Hands-on agentic systems design for production
• Deep LLM, NLP, RAG, and embeddings expertise
• Strong Python and distributed systems knowledge
• API/SDK architecture experience for external clients
• Cloud infrastructure and MLOps familiarity
• Onsite minimum 2 days/week in Boston, MA

Nice to have: LoRA, PEFT, RLHF fine-tuning; data engineering; Docker/Kubernetes; ethical AI practices.

Compensation: $160,000–$200,000 + bonus.
