As a Senior AI Engineer, you'll drive intelligent features that redefine how users build automations — building AI-powered capabilities from natural language input to smart suggestions. You'll join the AI team building tools for reliable AI applications (agents, assistants). This is a vital part of n8n's strategy with strong growth momentum.
n8n was founded in 2019 and has grown to over 160 people working across Europe, with 118k+ GitHub stars (top 50 most popular projects), annual recurring revenue growing over 7x year-over-year, and recently secured a $60M Series B in February 2025 led by Highland, following Sequoia's first German seed investment.
Core Requirements:
- 6+ years Node.js and TypeScript proficiency (cutting-edge tech/startup experience preferred)
- Hands-on AI product experience (including personal projects)
- RESTful and GraphQL API consumption
- Relational database design and SQL (SQLite, PostgreSQL)
- Action bias and customer value delivery
Bonus Skills:
- Ground-up project leadership or founding experience
- Open source and automation passion
- Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps, or Vue.js familiarity
