Senior AI Engineer

As the first AI Engineer at Skalar, you'll build core AI capabilities and intelligent agents for tax and accounting automation. You'll take major AI features and intelligent agents end-to-end from specification through shipping and measurement: implement robust LLM integrations, build RAG pipelines with vector databases (pgvector, Pinecone), iterate quickly based on user feedback, and influence Skalar's agentic stack choices (LangChain, Vercel AI SDK). Significant autonomy in architecture decisions.

Tech stack: TypeScript, Next.js (React), PostgreSQL, Python, Docker, AWS/GCP. LLM APIs: OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini. Agentic frameworks in play: LangChain, Vercel AI SDK. Vector databases: pgvector, Pinecone.

Requirements: 5+ years building AI/LLM systems in production, deep hands-on experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini), experience with agentic frameworks, RAG pipelines and vector databases.

Compensation: above-market + equity. Requires valid work permit to work in Germany. Final interview in-person in Munich.
