The Senior AI Engineer position focuses on developing next-generation AI products for Spiral and AXO platforms, requiring capability across the full technology stack from backend systems to customer-facing features.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct and manage product capabilities spanning prototyping through production deployment
- Engineer AI workflows and backend services prioritizing scalability and security
- Develop high-performance APIs and async workers using Python and TypeScript
- Release product features and internal tools enhancing AI system usability
- Design data pipelines converting raw interaction data into structured insights
- Collaborate cross-functionally translating product concepts into technical implementations
- Manage AWS/GCP infrastructure emphasizing reproducibility and observability
- Enhance system quality through evaluation, monitoring, and operational practices
- Establish engineering standards and mentor distributed systems teams
Required Qualifications
- 3-5+ years professional software engineering building production systems
- Generalist background moving between backend, frontend, AI services, and APIs
- Strong Python and TypeScript proficiency
- Demonstrated experience shipping AI agents and LLM-powered applications, or other production AI systems
- Product-focused thinking in ambiguous environments
- AWS/GCP production experience
- Competency with large datasets and data pipeline development
- SQL and data systems fundamentals
Desired Qualifications
- Zero-to-one AI product development experience
- Conversational data or CRM/CCaaS platform familiarity
- AI systems observability and reliability expertise
Compensation & Location
Annual range: $180,000-$190,000 USD. Remote, US (also available as hybrid from Los Angeles, CA). Benefits: Medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k), commuter benefits.
