Software Engineer (Agentic AI), AI & Data Platforms

The Developer Experience Platform team seeks a software engineer to build backend systems powering multi-agent AI workflows. This role focuses on creating reliable infrastructure that integrates large language models into developer tools across Apple.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain backend services orchestrating multi-agent AI workflows
- Build reliable systems integrating LLMs into developer tools and services
- Handle cloud deployments, CI/CD, and MLOps practices for AI service reliability
- Collaborate with researchers to move AI capabilities into production
- Partner with developers to improve AI-powered tool experiences
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or equivalent experience
- 4+ years software engineering or machine learning industry experience
- Hands-on building AI agents with LLMs using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, Pydantic AI, or CrewAI
- Strong programming in Python, Java, Go, Node.js, or TypeScript
- Production experience designing distributed systems, backend services, and APIs
Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud deployment experience (AWS, GCP, Azure) with containerization and orchestration
- CI/CD pipeline and MLOps expertise for LLM-powered services
- REST/GraphQL APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems background
- Vector databases and human-in-the-loop workflow knowledge
- Cross-functional collaboration skills
Locations: Austin, Texas or Sunnyvale, California
Compensation (Sunnyvale): Base pay range $147,400 to $220,900 depending on skills and experience. Includes stock options, comprehensive benefits, and potential bonuses.
