Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

DQC is a fast-growing AI startup founded in 2022 and headquartered in Munich, building agentic data quality software that fundamentally improves how organizations build and operate data systems. The platform automatically detects issues in master and transactional data, generates improvement suggestions using AI and human expertise, and prevents problems at the source across systems like Snowflake, Databricks, SAP, and more.

The Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll own the full lifecycle of feature development from architecture and design to production deployment. You'll work cross-functionally with backend, frontend, and product to ship features that thousands of users rely on. The platform sits at the intersection of backend systems, modern data stacks, and LLM-driven workflows.

Essential Requirements

• 5+ years delivering production backend systems
• 3+ years Python experience with service-oriented/microservice architectures
• Strong relational database expertise (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Ability to make technical decisions balancing scalability, reliability, maintainability
• Git proficiency and collaborative development understanding
• LLM coding assistant experience
• Fluent English communication

Preferred

• Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, Kratos, Keto, AWS, Kubernetes
• Large-scale data systems (Snowflake, Databricks)
• LLM awareness (Sonnet, GPT, Qwen)
• Startup environment experience

Mandatory: EU work permit required.

Salary: 65,000-95,000 EUR + VSOP.
