Forward Deployed Engineer - Applied AI - Senior Manager - Financial Services - Consulting

EY is hiring a Senior Manager-level Forward Deployed Engineer on the Applied AI team within Financial Services Consulting. You will lead AI system design principles, reference architectures, and engineering standards for highly complex AI/ML initiatives — architecting enterprise-scale generative AI, RAG, and agentic systems.

Responsibilities include:

• Define and govern system design principles, reference architectures, and engineering patterns for AI/ML, generative AI, RAG, and agentic systems
• Establish governance, design reviews, and architecture standards
• Lead complex project delivery with accountability for technical quality and operational excellence
• Mentor senior engineers
• Define API, integration, and data strategies for AI platforms
• Expertise in designing and governing enterprise agentic AI frameworks including multi-agent orchestration, tool use patterns, and memory architecture

Required:

• Deep knowledge of foundation models (GPT-4o, Claude, Llama, Gemini, Mistral)
• Enterprise-scale knowledge AI systems architecture
• Advanced Python
• Agentic AI frameworks (LangGraph, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, NVIDIA NIM)
• LLMOps and model lifecycle management
• Observability (LangSmith, Arize, Datadog, Azure Monitor)
• Enterprise evaluation standards (RAGAS, DeepEval, Weights & Biases)
• API design and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, REST, gRPC)
• Enterprise platforms (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Vertex AI)
• Data security and compliance (Azure Purview, AWS Macie, Microsoft Presidio)
• Safety guardrails (NeMo Guardrails, Guardrails AI, Azure Content Safety)
• 10+ years applied engineering
• Bachelor's preferred; MBA/MS preferred

Hybrid (40-60% in person). Primary location New York with Charlotte, Dallas, Tampa.

Compensation:

• General US range: $144,000 - $329,100
• NYC Metro/Washington State/California (excl. Sacramento): $172,800 - $374,000
