As founding platform engineer, your mission is to build the infrastructure that makes Hyperspell feel like magic — fast, reliable, and effortlessly scalable. You'll own the foundation the entire product is built on.

What you'll tackle:

• Scaling to the next order of magnitude — design and evolve systems that absorb 10x traffic increases without anyone noticing
• Bulletproof data pipelines — millions of documents flow through the platform; build concurrency control, deduplication, and fault tolerance for exactly-once processing
• Making it fast — profile, benchmark, and ruthlessly optimize to shave latency from search queries and make every API call feel instant
• Observability that tells a story — dashboards, traces, alerts that surface real production behavior

Tech Stack:

• Python (required)
• Cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Databases and distributed systems

Requirements:

• 3-5 years backend, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience
• Strong Python proficiency
• Deep understanding of databases, networking, and distributed systems
• Production cloud infrastructure experience
• Clear communication skills

Compensation:

• $150-250k base salary
• 0.5-1.5% equity
• $10,000 work setup budget

• High-autonomy role with direct founder collaboration and phased 30/60/90-day milestones
