Principal AI Engineer (Autonomous Agent) — PointClickCare
Location: Remote, USA (with travel to Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City offices for onboarding, team events, and semi-annual/annual meetings)
Compensation: $179,000-$199,000 USD annually + bonus + benefits
About the Role
The Principal AI Engineer designs and implements autonomous agent solutions within PointClickCare's GenAI team. You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate objectives into agent-based solutions, build agent data types and pipelines, develop and optimize autonomous agents using LLMs and planning algorithms, implement security mechanisms (authentication, RBAC, audit logging), and integrate agents securely with existing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement autonomous agent architectures using modern LLM agent frameworks
- Build agent data pipelines, memory, and tool-use abstractions
- Develop and optimize autonomous agents using LLMs and planning algorithms
- Implement security mechanisms including authentication, RBAC, and audit logging
- Integrate agents securely with existing healthcare SaaS systems
Required Tech Stack
- Python (expert level) with frameworks and functional programming
- LLM Agent Frameworks: LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Artificial Intelligence
- Security implementation experience at scale (RBAC, MFA, network security, compliance monitoring)
