The AI Engineering Team focuses on next-generation AI applications, particularly Large Language Models and agentic systems. The mission involves building robust pipelines, high-performance infrastructure, and operational tooling for speed, safety, and scale deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect agentic frameworks supporting tool use, context retrieval, memory, and planning
• Build intelligent agents automating investigative tasks and supporting analyst decision-making
• Extend LLM infrastructure (OpenAI, Anthropic, local models) with prompt engineering and RAG implementations
• Design safe, observable, auditable agent behaviors for high-sensitivity environments
• Evaluate performance across reasoning, latency, success rate, and hallucination metrics
• Contribute to rapid experimentation and ethical AI deployment culture

Required Qualifications:

• Strong backend/systems engineering background (Python preferred)
• Hands-on LLM and agentic systems building experience
• Familiarity with agentic pipelines and information flow optimization
• System design expertise emphasizing safety, scalability, explainability
• High product empathy focused on end-user impact
• Experimentation and rapid iteration mindset

Preferred: Knowledge graphs, task orchestration, or AI safety experience.

Salary: $200,000 - $275,000 base (plus equity eligibility)

Note: AI fluency is a baseline expectation at TRM. Candidates evaluated on applied AI capabilities during interviews.

Location: San Francisco, CA (hybrid, 3+ days in office per week)
