Founding Engineer AI Start-up Full-Stack

At Zenline AI, we are building AI-powered tools for the retail industry, backed by Seedcamp. Team background includes BCG, Amazon, ETH, and Cambridge alumni. Our mission is building AI agents to help retailers compete against Amazon and Temu.

Responsibilities:

• Full-Stack development: Define technical foundations across frontend, backend, data, and AI infrastructure
• Build robust backend systems, develop intuitive frontend experiences, and design intelligent LLM pipelines that deliver actionable business recommendations
• Experiment with agentic frameworks: Use and evaluate modern AI tooling and frameworks to build agents that are reliable, observable, and safe in production
• Build agents that turn enterprise data into value 10x faster while balancing rapid prototype coding with disciplined, stable long-term design
• Own modules end to end: Build and own full product modules from initial sketch through production and iteration
• Work directly with the business: Collaborate closely with deployment engineers and customers

Requirements:

• 2-4 years building high-performance web applications with a focus on exceptional user experiences
• AI Expertise: Proven experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications from the ground up
• Technical generalist mindset with entrepreneurial orientation
• Comfortable moving fast in an ambiguous environment
• Bonus: Understanding of business concepts like P&L statements and balance sheets

Compensation:

• CHF 100,000 - 125,000/year
• Stock options included

Location: Klausstrasse 19, Zurich, Switzerland (on-site required)
Work hours: 42 hours/week
