Company: Apple Location: Austin, Texas
Apple's Developer Experience Platform team seeks a senior software engineer to design and implement AI-powered developer tools. The role focuses on building the backbone of an agentic AI platform that brings together AI agents and autonomous workflows to support how apps are built across Apple.
The team creates frameworks and services enabling enterprise developers to move faster through the software development lifecycle. This hands-on position balances reliability and scale with experimentation and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain backend services orchestrating multi-agent AI workflows
- Build reliable systems integrating large language models into developer tools
- Work on cloud deployments, CI/CD, and MLOps for AI service reliability
- Collaborate with researchers bringing new AI capabilities to production
- Partner with developers to improve AI-powered tool experiences
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or equivalent
- 4+ years software engineering or machine learning industry experience
- Hands-on AI agent experience with LLMs using frameworks like LangChain or LangGraph
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Go, Node.js, or TypeScript
- Distributed systems and API design expertise
Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud deployment experience (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Docker and Kubernetes knowledge
- CI/CD and MLOps pipeline expertise
- REST/GraphQL APIs and microservices background
- Vector database and human-in-the-loop workflow familiarity
