AI Engineer - AI Platform (LLM Systems)

Basis Technologies seeks an AI Engineer to build the foundational AI infrastructure for their Klario product. The role involves building LLM orchestration pipelines, RAG systems, and multi-agent capabilities. 130+ employees globally, UK's Best Workplaces recognition for three consecutive years.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implementing and optimizing LLM orchestration pipelines
• Creating modular prompt architectures
• Developing knowledge graph infrastructure with graph and vector databases
• Building RAG pipelines with federated retrieval across multiple sources
• Operating centralized evaluation frameworks for AI capabilities
• Implementing multi-agent systems for agentic AI features
• Conducting model evaluation and selection
• Supporting AI governance and regulatory compliance (ISO 42001, EU AI Act)

Required Qualifications:

• Production experience building LLM systems
• Expertise in prompt and context engineering
• Hands-on RAG system experience
• Knowledge graph and vector database experience
• AI evaluation framework development
• Python proficiency, REST APIs, CI/CD pipeline knowledge
• Adaptability in fast-moving startup environments

Desirable Skills:

• Multi-agent orchestration and tool-calling patterns
• EU AI Act and ISO 42001 knowledge
• Shared AI infrastructure experience
• SAP BTP ecosystem familiarity
