About the Role
Cohere seeks engineers to develop production-grade AI agents for enterprise customers at scale. The role involves designing and building LLM-powered agentic workflows from prototypes through production deployment, working directly with enterprise clients on real-world problems.
Key Responsibilities
Customer-Facing Work
- Translate business challenges into well-defined agent problems with success metrics
- Provide technical leadership across development and evaluation lifecycles
- Contribute reusable frameworks and patterns
Agent Development
- Lead design, build, and delivery of LLM-powered agents with enterprise reliability
- Balance rapid iteration with production requirements
- Define evaluation standards for success measurement
- Debug agent behavior and improve prompts, workflows, and guardrails
Team Leadership
- Mentor distributed team members
- Drive clarity and alignment in ambiguous situations
Required Skills & Experience
- Production-grade software development (Python/TypeScript)
- Hands-on agentic architecture experience (ReAct, Plan-and-Execute patterns)
- Deep familiarity with frontier LLMs (GPT, Claude, Gemini)
- RAG, vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate)
- Orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI, custom state machines)
- Robust evaluation framework development
- Enterprise customer stakeholder management
- 5+ years experience, up to 25% travel
