Forward Deployed Engineer - Applied AI - Senior - Financial Services - Consulting

EY is hiring a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer on the Applied AI team within Financial Services Consulting. You will design and deploy production-grade AI/ML solutions for top financial-services clients, translating business requirements into working systems.

Day-to-day you will build LLM and RAG systems, debug production agentic workflows, and integrate AI capabilities into enterprise platforms. The role requires experience designing and building agentic systems including multi-agent orchestration patterns, tool use, and memory design. You must demonstrate the ability to build reliable agent loops including failure handling, retries, fallbacks, and context window management.

The role calls for hands-on Python proficiency, deep experience with LLM applications, RAG systems, and prompt engineering (zero-shot, few-shot, chain-of-thought), and comfort with multi-agent orchestration, tool use, and memory design.

You'll work across Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, and Google Vertex AI; build on top of LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, and Semantic Kernel; and use evaluation frameworks like RAGAS and DeepEval, with model observability via LangSmith, Arize, or Datadog. DevOps experience (Docker, Kubernetes) and REST/event-driven API design are required.

Preferred: LLM fine-tuning (LoRA, QLoRA, PEFT), inference optimization, AI security and responsible AI principles, AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot), prior consulting experience, and a Master's degree (MBA/MS).

Requirements:

• 3+ years applied engineering with meaningful AI/ML background
• Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's degree a plus
• Hybrid (40-60% in person)
• Primary location New York with other US listings (Charlotte, Dallas, Tampa)

Compensation:

• General US range: $106,900 - $176,500
• NYC Metro/Washington State/California (excl. Sacramento): $128,400 - $200,600
