About the Role
Mastercard Foundry R&D seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Agentic AI Engineering team. This is a hands-on position applying Generative and Agentic AI to products and developer workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Build software and tooling supporting Mastercard's AI strategy
- Design AI-enabled applications
- Develop reusable services and patterns that enable teams across Mastercard to experiment, validate, and scale AI-enabled solutions
- Evaluate models and frameworks across quality, cost, and latency metrics
- Contribute to product development
- Improve developer experience through AI-assisted workflows
- Partner across teams and advocate best practices organization-wide
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience building applications or systems using Generative AI and LLMs
- Understanding of agentic patterns, orchestration, tool-calling, context management, and AI system design trade-offs
- Modern AI frameworks: LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, Vercel AI SDK, Codex SDK
- Strong software engineering
- React and/or Next.js
- Java and/or Python
- Developer tooling experience
- Containers and cloud-native development
- CI/CD practices
Location: Dublin 18, Ireland (hybrid)
