About the Role
Microsoft AI seeks engineers to develop Copilot memory and personalization, building AI that remembers, evolves, and grows with each user. The role involves designing large-scale systems leveraging search, embeddings, retrieval, and RAG technologies for the Copilot team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build large-scale Copilot memory systems using RAG and ranking technologies
- Act as Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) with mentoring and on-call responsibilities
- Navigate ambiguity to deliver solutions quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Proactively improve system availability, reliability, efficiency, and performance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in computer science (or related field) + 6+ years coding experience in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's + 8+ years experience OR Master's + 6+ years
- 4+ years building APIs and pipelines for large-scale products
- Experience deploying machine learning/LLM applications at scale
- Expertise designing embedding, retrieval, and ranking systems
Hybrid in Mountain View, CA (minimum 3 days/week in-office, requires local residency in SF Bay Area).
Salary ranges
- IC5 Level: $188,000-$304,200 (Bay Area)
- IC6 Level: $220,800-$331,200 (Bay Area)
