About the role

Scale AI is looking for an Applied AI Engineer to join the Scale Generative Platform (SGP) ML team in London. You will work directly with enterprise clients on cutting-edge machine learning solutions, building AI agents on the SGP platform.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimize AI solutions for enterprise customer technical challenges
• Build advanced AI agents using SGP, including multimodal functionality and tool-calling capabilities
• Translate business requirements into technical implementations
• Maintain regular client meetings both onsite and virtually
• Develop production code across multiple environments in customer and Scale codebases
• Rapidly learn new technologies while managing multiple priorities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or quantitative field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong Python proficiency with NumPy and Pandas
• Cloud environment experience (AWS or GCP)
• Data-driven ML iteration methodology understanding
• Problem-solving ability with ambiguous, complex technical challenges

Preferred

• Software engineering best practices knowledge
• Production generative AI application development experience
• LLM strengths and weaknesses familiarity

Logistics

• Hybrid: 2-3 days per week onsite in London office
