The AI Engineer role is responsible for designing and deploying production-grade AI solutions across Scotiabank's Global Wealth Management Technology division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage Generative AI use cases for production use.
  • Build data pipelines and extract features from structured and semi-structured data.
  • Develop agentic systems leveraging large language models for autonomous task execution.
  • Contribute to retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems and agent memory structures.
  • Automate LLM pipelines including preprocessing, training, and evaluation workflows.
  • Implement CI/CD for AI solutions on cloud infrastructure (Azure, GCP).
  • Apply LLMOps practices for model reproducibility, monitoring, and governance.
  • Ensure operational reliability through containerization and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Uphold model governance and data compliance standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in enterprise software development, AI/ML engineering, MLOps, LLMOps, or applied data science.
  • Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Spring (preferably Spring AI), React, and ML libraries.
  • Strong understanding of GenAI fundamentals, including multi-agent systems.
  • Experience with ML pipeline tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow).
  • Docker and Kubernetes containerization knowledge.
  • Cloud experience with GCP Vertex AI and/or Azure ML.
  • Data wrangling and basic drift detection skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • RAG workflow exposure with managed vector databases (Azure AI Search, Vertex AI Matching Engine).
  • Familiarity with frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, or Semantic Kernel.
  • Infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, ARM templates).
  • Observability tools experience (Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace).
  • Financial services background.
