About the Role
Smartsheet is hiring a Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer to independently lead the most complex AI deployments. You will own the full engagement lifecycle from technical discovery through production deployment through solutions org handoff, architect multi-agent solutions, design client-personalized MCP resource packs, and build the Deployment Kits that transform how 200+ solutions consultants and partners operate.
Responsibilities
- Lead multi-system AI deployments with end-to-end scope, architecture, building, validation, and customer relationship management
- Own AI workshop customization per customer; translate outputs to production requirements
- Architect multi-agent solutions with appropriate coordination patterns
- Design client-specific and industry-specific MCP resource packs
- Own Deployment Kit quality for your pod
- Lead Solutions Enablement Sprints and mentor junior engineers
- Drive strategic improvements through field intelligence and RFC contributions
Required Qualifications
- 6-10+ years production software engineering, including 3+ years deploying AI/ML to production
- Deep Python proficiency; strong TypeScript/JavaScript
- Deep production LLM experience: multi-agent orchestration, MCP/tool-use, RAG optimization, evaluation frameworks, agent deployment at scale
- System architecture expertise across enterprise systems, cloud infrastructure, and AI services
- Complex enterprise technical engagement leadership
- BS/MS Computer Science or equivalent
Nice-to-Have
- FDE/solutions engineering function founding or scaling experience
- Databricks, AWS Bedrock, or Temporal experience
- Healthcare, financial services, or government domain expertise
- Agent framework contributions (Strands SDK, LangChain, open-source MCP servers)
Salary: $227,500 - $245,000 + incentives. Remote (US only). 25-50% travel required. Application deadline: June 10, 2026.
