80% of the backend is an agent system focused on parsing notes, identifying contacts, and scheduling reminders. The AI Software Engineer will design and enhance the AI agent system with new tools and improved reasoning, building agent systems with tool use and structured outputs.
About the Role
Top of Mind is building relationship intelligence. A knowledge layer between raw information and real understanding. Small team, shipping fast, AI-augmented everything (they use Claude Code daily).
80% of the backend is an agent focused on parsing notes, identifying contacts, and scheduling reminders rather than traditional API endpoints.
What you'll do:
- Develop and launch features for the React Native/Expo mobile app
- Design and enhance the AI agent system with new tools and improved reasoning
- Own problems from identification through production deployment
- Collaborate directly with founders and users without intermediaries
- Make autonomous decisions with a bias toward action over consensus
Ideal candidate:
- Uses AI coding tools extensively (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) and knows when to leverage them
- Has hands-on experience building agent systems with tool use and structured outputs
- React Native and Expo proficiency
- Ships independently and takes full ownership of features
- Comfort with ambiguity and willingness to challenge unclear directions
