About the Role
Unit | Software Engineer, Backend | San Francisco | Full-time | On-site
Unit is building an AI agentic video platform for personalized marketing videos. We have strong traction with enterprise customers and are hiring Senior and Staff Engineers to help build the core platform across agent architecture, AI video/image workflows, media infrastructure, customer data ingestion, enterprise integrations, publishing systems, and feedback loops from real marketing outcomes.
Our team comes from Instagram, TikTok, NVIDIA, Roblox, Airbnb, and Robinhood. We're backed by Khosla Ventures, Air Street Capital, and angels from top AI labs.
What you'll build:
- Scalable backend systems that power the creative engine for the generative video platform
- Agentic workflows and custom models as core infrastructure components
- Distributed systems handling large-scale data processing
- Real-time data pipelines
- Reinforcement learning infrastructure
Requirements:
- 3+ years software engineering experience with Python proficiency
- AWS services (S3, Lambda, RDS, SQS, ECS), FastAPI, Docker, CI/CD expertise
- Distributed systems and large-scale data processing knowledge
Compensation: $175K–$250K base + equity grant + medical/dental/vision + daily dinner stipend + relocation support
Location: San Francisco (on-site)
