Senior Agentic AI Engineer

Eigen Labs is constructing infrastructure for coordinating humans and AI agents alike. The company identifies a critical inflection point where agents transition from tools to autonomous economic actors capable of writing code, coordinating work, and generating revenue. Eigen Labs leverages blockchain technology through EigenLayer (restaking infrastructure) and EigenCloud (developer platform for verifiable compute) to enable agentic companies.

Key Responsibilities

• Construct agent runtimes and orchestration systems including planning, tool utilization, memory, and coordination
• Engineer reliability mechanisms: retries, failure handling, state management
• Implement observability: tracing, debugging, evaluation frameworks
• Optimize cost through cost-aware execution and performance tuning
• Build production-grade systems versus prototypes
• Integrate LLMs, APIs, and external data into coherent working systems
• Define developer-facing APIs for building, debugging, and extending agent behavior

Strong Signals (Required)

• Shipped real systems with production dependencies
• Converted ambiguous problems into functional products
• Built or deeply explored agent systems, LLM pipelines, or automation beyond demonstrations
• Understand production system behavior, failure modes, tradeoffs, reliability patterns
• Move quickly iteratively without awaiting perfect specifications

Technical Foundation

• Strong backend/systems experience: distributed systems, APIs, infrastructure
• Proficiency in core language: Python, Go, TypeScript, Rust, or equivalent
• Experience with reliability patterns: state management, retries, observability
• Comfort working across technical stack layers

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Agent frameworks: LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, custom systems
• Multi-agent or orchestration system development
• LLM evaluation, prompting, performance optimization
• Workflow engines: Temporal, Airflow, Dagster
• Developer platforms, SDKs, internal tools
• Retrieval systems, vector databases, memory architectures
• Crypto, distributed systems, or verifiable compute interest
