Senior AI Software Engineer, Internal Enablement

Extend is hiring a Senior AI Software Engineer, Internal Enablement (remote, US). You'll build an agentic platform for non-engineering roles — secure agent infrastructure, MCP connectors, and skill libraries that enable company-wide AI tooling adoption.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy secure MCP connectors to internal systems and third-party SaaS (finance, CRM, data warehouse, expense management, analytics, support, ATS)
• Build and maintain a shared library of reusable agent skills with review and publishing governance
• Develop agent infrastructure and tooling so non-engineers can create reusable agent skills securely and reliably
• Build a meta-agent that discovers APIs, scaffolds MCP servers, and provisions access automatically
• Establish credential scoping, OpenTelemetry instrumentation, and least-privilege security patterns
• Own the employee experience through onboarding, documentation, and adoption feedback loops
• Design credential vending and risk-tier models for agent skills
• Instrument the platform end-to-end with observability tooling

Requirements:

• 5+ years shipping production systems
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript/Node, or Rust
• Track record building developer tooling, SDKs, or internal frameworks measured by adoption
• Real third-party integration experience (OAuth, credential scoping, webhooks, pagination, rate limiting)
• AWS comfort (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, managed agent runtimes)
• Direct experience with Claude Code, MCP, or another agent framework (LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, OpenAI Agents SDK)
• Production credential management (OAuth 2.0/OIDC, API key vending, secret rotation)
• AWS security fundamentals (IAM, KMS, Lambda, serverless attack patterns)

Nice to have:

• AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or other IaC
• OpenTelemetry/Coralogix experience
• Platform engineering or internal developer platform background
• Early-stage startup IC experience
• LLM application security (OWASP Top 10, prompt injection, agent sandboxing)

Compensation: $160,000–$180,000 base + equity. Benefits: full medical/dental/vision, flexible PTO, 401(k).
