Business AI Engineer (Global)

Hitachi Energy is building the ES Regional Office in Madrid. As Business AI Engineer (Global), you will ideate and design business driven modular AI agents using enterprise technologies, the Microsoft stack, and orchestration frameworks. You will elevate prompt engineering to the next level with a business first approach, working at the intersection of business and technology to operationalize AI capabilities across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and build modular AI agents that solve real business problems across functional areas
• Architect agentic systems using Microsoft AI Foundry and the wider Microsoft stack
• Integrate AI agents with enterprise data sources (ERP/PLM/CRM, M365 Graph) via APIs, event-driven architectures, and vector databases
• Apply agentic design patterns (planning, tool use, memory, evaluation) to deliver robust, observable systems
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate workflows into agent-driven automations
• Establish best practices for prompt engineering, evaluation, and governance
• Mentor technical teams and ensure compliance with responsible AI principles

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in AI or software engineering, with hands-on agent or LLM application work
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or TypeScript
• Experience with APIs, event-driven architectures, and vector databases
• Familiarity with agentic design patterns and orchestration frameworks
• Experience deploying production AI systems on Microsoft Azure (a plus)
• Microsoft AI Foundry background
• Excellent communication skills in English
