About the Role
MemberPress is hiring an AI Engineer to own the AI core of a new product serving thousands of paying customers. This is a production-focused role emphasizing shipping over research.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and operate the inference pipeline with retrieval-augmented generation and structured tool calls.
- Manage prompt versioning and evaluation suite with adversarial testing.
- Own cost telemetry, enforce model routing, implement caching and abuse detection.
- Build feedback mechanisms for continuous system improvement.
- Iterate on quality based on customer signals.
Required experience:
- Personally shipped at least one production LLM-powered product or feature.
- Recovered from issues like prompt drift, model regression, or cost overruns.
- Full-stack engineering in Python or TypeScript.
- PostgreSQL and SQL proficiency.
- Vector store experience (pgvector, Pinecone, or equivalent).
- Anthropic (preferred) or OpenAI API hands-on experience.
The team explicitly states they own orchestration in-house (no LangChain wrappers). They are not looking for research scientists or AI buzzword resumes lacking shipped systems.
Location: Remote, US Mountain Time overlap preferred.
