About the Role
Georg Thieme Verlag KG (Thieme Group) is hiring an ML Engineer to work on design, development and optimization of AI products using RAG architectures in healthcare. This role focuses on developing AI pipelines from prototype to production using MLflow, evaluation and performance monitoring of RAG-based chat applications in production environments, cross-functional collaboration, and coordinating with subject matter experts to refine knowledge models.
Required qualifications include several years as AI Engineer or Data Scientist, solid knowledge of LLM integration and RAG system design (especially retrieval), initial experience with orchestration of agentic systems (e.g. MCP), Python proficiency with PyTorch, LangChain/LangGraph, and experience deploying and scaling AI systems in cloud environments (ideally Databricks).
Full-time position (40 hours/week) with flexible hours and mobile working available within Germany.
