About the Role
A financial dashboarding company serving the veterinary industry is building an AI-powered middleware platform enabling customers to query financial data through natural language conversation rather than traditional dashboards. This is the founder's first technical hire.
Core Responsibilities:
- Architect an agentic AI layer with MCP servers exposing proprietary data repositories
- Build query orchestration routing through LLM calls
- Implement multi-tenant authentication with per-customer data isolation
- Build audit logging and rate limiting
- Integrate with veterinary ERP and accounting systems
Required Skills:
- 5+ years backend/platform engineering (Python/TypeScript)
- Multi-tenant SaaS with strict data isolation experience
- At least one shipped production LLM-integrated application (RAG, tool-use agents, conversational AI)
- API design expertise
- SQL and database optimization
- Security-first architecture mindset
Strong Advantages: MCP server development, LLM API familiarity (Claude, OpenAI, function calling), financial/GL accounting knowledge, LangChain or LlamaIndex, Docker, cloud deployment, CI/CD
Rate: $40-$80/hour Duration: 8 weeks (contract-to-hire available)
